Brad Berger / Cornerstone Financial Strategies

Brad is a CERTIFIED  FINANCIAL  PLANNER™  Professional  and brings a quarter of a century of comprehensive financial planning  experience to Cornerstone  Financial Strategies.  Previously,  Brad served with an international financial-planning firm, starting in private practice and culminating  a 17-year career as the Director of Advisor Operations. Recognizing he wasn’t living the advice he routinely gave to both clients and advisors  to maintain  a balanced  and high quality of life, he decided to return to private practice in 2008 in order to spend more time with his family and in his community.

Brad enjoys helping people make smart choices about their money for the reasons that are important to them. This not only identifies  long-range goals, but also assist them in exploring  the values upon which they are based. His clients appreciate  the clarity and simplicity  that comes from working with a trusted advisor who serves as the head coach of their team of professionals, orchestrating  the individual expertise  of each subject­ matter specialist  for their benefit. They also appreciate  the coaching and accountability culture Brad brings to the implementation of the recommendations of the entire team.

A lifelong learner, Brad holds two additional professional designations from the American College- the Chartered  Leadership  Fellow and the Chartered  Advisor in Philanthropy,  as well as, special expertise  in the area of retirement  planning  and distribution  as an Ed

Slott Master Elite IRA Advisor.  His education  and training in the areas of personal and business  finance, coupled with an extensive  leadership  background, makes him an ideal candidate  for what he believes  is essential  in today’s financial climate: having the ability to coordinate  and orchestrate  the necessary  members  of the client’s  Deliverables  Team.

Active in the community,  Brad is a member  of the Tacoma Estate Planning Council and serves on the KBTC Association  Board, MultiCare’s Professional  Legacy Advisory Council,  and formerly on the Professional Advisor Board of the Greater Tacoma Community  Foundation.

He is an instrument-rated commercial pilot (land and float) and uses his skills as a pilot for fun and as a Captain in the Civil Air Patrol.

Brad is a graduate  of the United States Military Academy, West Point and served as an infantry officer in Berlin, Germany, during the fall of the wall.  His historical claim to fame is as the Scout Platoon  Leader of the Platoon that performed  the last armed wall patrol of the Berlin Wall.

Brad lives in Bellevue  with his wife, their two sons, their yellow lab, Zeus, and the older twin girls when they are home to visit. The entire family enjoys winter skiing at White Pass (where Brad is the Avalanche  Advisor to the Volunteer Alpine Ski Patrol), and summers  on Lake Entiat, Lake Chelan and Lake Washington  where they waterski, wakeboard,  wake surf, and hydrofoil.
