Business and community leader Ginger Ackerley died Jan. 5 at her home in Seattle after a more than six-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 79.

Ackerley founded and chaired the WNBA Seattle Storm. She and her husband were owners of the Seattle SuperSonics for 18 years.
